ARLIS/WNY, the Western New York chapter of Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA), provides the opportunity for members from all over the upstate New York region to meet other local art information professionals, to share ideas about their work, and to participate in activities which further the work of our parent organization.
ARLIS/WNY chapter meetings are held in the spring and fall. Meeting sites have included museums and academic institutions in Cooperstown, Geneva, Ithaca, Rochester, Alfred, Buffalo, Utica, Cortland, and Syracuse. From time to time, ARLIS/WNY has met with other chapters, including those in New York City, New England, and Toronto. Programs have addressed such topics as planning a museum library, professional status, preservation of library and archival materials, and the Arts and Crafts Movement heritage of upstate New York.
